Our Wedding and Honeymoon

Our Wedding and Honeymoon

Doug and I are MARRIED! In October, we had a lovely farm-to-table, rustic themed wedding in Chicago and it was just perfect. It was wonderful to celebrate with all of our friends and family; we had such a great time.

One of the most fun things we had at our wedding was an "unboxed" photo booth from our photographers, Bobbi & Mike. It was a huge hit!

Also, we owe a huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful vendors. Our wedding turned out exactly as we had planned (in some cases even better than we had planned) and having planned it mostly from Hawaii, we owe it to them for executing our vision so flawlessly. If you live in Chicago or are planning a wedding there any time soon, here is a list of our great vendors.

Below is our beautiful wedding video from Rewind Documentaries. Didn't they do an awesome job!?

After our wedding we had to head back to Hawaii for a little over a month before our "full" honeymoon that we had planned to Coasta Rica. Because we had to fly through San Franscisco anyway on our way home, we decided to take a weekend in Napa for a mini-honeymoon. Even though we were only there two days, we packed in the wine tasting! Of course we hired a driver so that we wouldn't have to spit out our wine.

About a month later we embarked on our full honeymoon to Costa Rica and we loved it! What a great country! It is a lot like Hawaii actually, except way more animals.

In Costa Rica we toured a coffee farm near San Jose, swam in the hot springs in Arenal, zip lined in the cloud forest in Monteverde, white water rafted in the Manuel Antonio National Park, toured a vanilla plantation, and went chocolate tasting. It was a lot for just a week long trip, but we had an amazing time! We used the company Anywhere Costa Rica for our trip and I HIGHLY recommend them. They planned everything and made everything so easy and relaxing.
